Inclusion is a fundamental responsibility for cultural institutions today. It means recognizing and valuing the diversity of people, bodies, experiences and stories, so that culture is truly an open, plural and participatory space. The Teatro Stabile del Veneto considers inclusion an essential part of its artistic vision and public role, convinced that theater can and should be a tool for dialogue, representation and social cohesion.
This is why the theater invests in projects, activities and research paths that focus on access to culture, active community participation and the involvement of subjectivities that are often underrepresented in the cultural landscape. Through collaborations with associations, local entities and international partners, the Teatro Stabile del Veneto develops inclusive practices that cross artistic production, training and the relationship with the public.
European projects such as STORM, dedicated to the mental well-being of the younger generations through participatory theater, and UAD - Universal Art Design, which applies the principles of universal design to the performing arts from the conception and creation stages, testify to a concrete commitment to rethinking theater as an accessible, equitable and representative space. Inclusion thus becomes not a marginal intervention, but an ongoing process that guides artistic and organizational choices, strengthening the link between scene, society and citizenship.
STORM - Shakespearean Theatre for Outlasting Resilience in Mental Health is a European project supported by the Creative Europe program, which uses theater - and in particular Shakespeare's work - as a tool for inclusion, dialogue and promotion of mental well-being. The project involves young people between the ages of 18 and 25 in participatory creative pathways that focus on emotional expression, sharing experiences and strengthening individual and collective resilience.
Through international workshops, co-creation activities and a European theater co-production, STORM works to break down the stigma associated with mental health and to enhance theater as a safe space for listening, confrontation and growth. Teatro Stabile del Veneto is developing the project in collaboration with European cultural and academic partners, reinforcing its commitment to promoting theater capable of generating social impact and speaking to new generations in an inclusive and conscious way.
UAD - Universal Art Design is a European project supported by the Creative Europe program , which brings the principles of universal design within the performing arts, putting inclusion at the heart of the creative process from its origins. The goal is to overcome the logic of accessibility as later adaptation, to imagine performances, languages and spaces designed from the beginning to be usable by all and everyone.
The project involves young artists from Italy, Poland and Serbia, with different backgrounds, skills and experiences, working together on issues related to social justice, equality and diversity through co-creation practices and international artistic residencies. The path culminates in the UAD Festival, a series of performances, meetings and workshops open to citizenship, also realized in collaboration with local associations and realities, to foster a direct dialogue between scene, community and society.
With UAD, the Teatro Stabile del Veneto reinforces its commitment to promoting an inclusive theater that is accessible and representative of the plurality of bodies, identities and voices that traverse the present.
